Philippians 1:18b-21
I will continue to rejoice,  for I know that through your prayers and God’s provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance. I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

Main Idea
Even in confinement, we can pray that the name of Christ will be exalted.

Most of us are currently being confined to our homes (for the most part) for the sake of other people lives.  The rapid spread of COVID-19 has many worried about people we know and even those that we don’t know that might not be able to fight off this virus. So many have taken “action.” We have closed the door, stepped 6 feet back, and disinfected as much as we can… all for the sake of other peoples lives.
Paul in much the same way was in confinement for the sake of other people’s lives.  And all the while, Paul said that he will “continue to rejoice” and that he “eagerly expected that God would be exalted through him.”  Even in prison, Paul was completely sold out for Jesus willing to give him everything… willing to go to any lengths so that Christ name would be known.
While many have rallied together to stop the spread of COVID-19, learning new practices for the sake of others, what would it look like for people to rally around Christ name being exalted? What would it look like for us to live for Christ?

What would you be willing to give up or do for the name of Christ to be known?
