DAY ONE
January 3, 2021
One of our values as a church is being a dependent people. Today, as we begin this time of prayer and fasting, we are asking that God would cultivate within us a deeper sense of dependence on Him.
DAY TWO
January 4, 2021
One of our values as a church is being devoted to God. On this day, as you feel the cost of fasting through hunger or longing, pray that your satisfaction would be met through devotion to Jesus.
DAY THREE
January 5, 2021
One of our greatest desires is that we would enjoy God as individuals and as a church. As we give up temporary pleasures, such as food, let’s pray that our greatest joy is found in our relationship with Jesus.
DAY FOUR
January 6, 2021
Part of fasting is cultivating a spiritual hunger for God. Pray that we as a church, and that people in San Marcos, would be filled with a deeper hunger for God. May we be a people who hunger and thirst for righteousness.
DAY FIVE
January 7, 2021
“When you fast…” Jesus commands us to fast (Matt. 6:16-18). Today, we are praying that our church might be marked by joyful obedience to Jesus and the leadership of the Spirit.
DAY SIX
January 8, 2021
There are many in the church who are “doing the right things” but are not enjoying God. Today, we are specifically praying that our obedience would be from an overflow of joy in God. May our worship be pleasing in God’s sight.
DAY SEVEN
January 9, 2021
As we conclude our first week of fasting and prayer, let’s pray that our church is marked by being devoted and dependent people who truly enjoy God. That we are a people of prayer. That we are a people of fasting. Not just once a year, but as a lifestyle that is bent towards God.
